The authorities of Venezuela and Colombia fully open the border between the two countries on January 1, the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The ministry noted that the delegations of both republics officially opened traffic on the Atanasio Girardot International Bridge. In addition, the Norte de Santander and Arauca border crossings are now fully operational.
Colombian Transport Minister Guillermo Reyes Gonzalez noted that these steps will guarantee the movement of goods and passengers, as well as promote the development of trade and tourism in Colombia and Venezuela.
As reported by IA REGNUM, at the end of August, Caracas and Bogota fully restored diplomatic relations between the two countries after a three-year break. This happened a few weeks after the inauguration of the new President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro.
